The château was acquired by Philippe Betschart, from an old family of Bordeaux merchants. The 11.5-hectare vineyard, certified biodynamic since 2010, sits atop the Pugnac plateau in the Côtes de Bourg appellation. The soil here is composed of clayey gravel and iron crasses reminiscent of Pomerol, but also, at the top of the south-facing slope, a soil of small gravels and white pebbles. All in an environment of woods, meadows and water.
