Alexandre Mazzia takes over the Mucem with a new culinary offering

After Gérald Passedat, it's Alexandre Mazzia's turn to sign the culinary offering at Marseille's Mucem. The chef will offer three dining outlets.

From 2025, the Mucem, Marseille's cultural jewel, will host a brand new gastronomic experience under the leadership ofAlexandre Mazzia (5 toques for his restaurant AM), and the Sodexo Live! group This partnership, which will run until 2036, marks a turning point for the J4 building's dining areas, combining culinary excellence and accessibility.

Mediterranean gastronomy at the heart of the Mucem

Selected following a call for expressions of interest launched at the end of 2024, the project led by Alexandre Mazzia and Sodexo Live! is fully in line with the museum's identity. With a focus on lively, popular Mediterranean cuisine, it aims to turn the dining areas into places where people can meet and share.

Three catering outlets will be deployed in several phases to meet visitors' expectations:

  • A panoramic restaurant, whose definitive name will be revealed at a later date, will offer cuisine inspired by Marseille and Mediterranean traditions, in a setting offering a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean and the Cathedral de la Major. Opening is scheduled for autumn 2025.
  • La Terrasse, a convivial space dedicated to street food, will offer dishes inspired by the famous "Michel par AM" foodtruck, a veritable culinary institution in Marseille. From summer 2025, visitors will be able to enjoy counter service for a relaxed, gourmet experience.
  • From spring 2025, the Kiosk, located in the lobby, will offer fast food based on plant-based compositions, in keeping with the "Michel par AM" universe.

The project also aims to be socially committed, with a clear commitment to solidarity and social responsibility. A cultural program will enrich the offering, highlighting the culinary and artistic talents of the Marseilles and Mediterranean scene.

For Alexandre Mazzia, this collaboration represents a unique opportunity: " It ' s a real honor to be able to collaborate in an iconic Marseilles venue open to the world and the Mediterranean. The cuisine will reflect the city of Marseille, which is so dear to my heart. Lively, exciting, accessible to all, highlighting the craftsmanship of our region. "

With this initiative, the Mucem confirms its desire to innovate and offer a complete experience to its visitors, where gastronomy and culture intertwine to sublimate the Mediterranean art of living.
